Fifth Grade

Education is a life long process! After graduating from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Senior High School, I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at the State University of New York at Cortland.  I continued my education at Sage Graduate School in Troy, New York where I received a Master's Degree in Reading. Throughout my years of teaching I have continued to take classes to keep myself current professionally and updated on the latest methods and strategies. In 2009, I earned my National Board Certification. I am always looking to grow and develop my teaching skills.

I taught Reading and English to ninth graders at Andrews High School for four years before switching to McDonald Elementary.  I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching fifth grade for the past nineteen years.

I was born and raised in upstate New York.  I love the beach and was excited to move South when the opportunity presented itself.  I chose to be a teacher because it is the career for which I was born!  I have been "teaching" ever since I was a little girl- I had some very smart stuffed animals!  I have always loved children and teaching has just come naturally to me.  Every day I have the opportunity to excite children about their education and their futures.  I love my job and can't imagine any career that could bring me as much enjoyment and fun as teaching my wonderful fifth graders!
